Best Vegan Blogs

Eating vegan is different from the standard American diet, but with help from the many online resources available, it’s completely within reach. In our world surrounded by the Internet, we wouldn't have as hard of a time as we thought we would in finding Vegan options. Vegan food blogs truly helped people through their vegan adventures. The best vegan blogs below helped keep me on with my vegan lifestyle. If you're thinking of going vegan, are already a vegan, or are simply looking for a great meal to cook meat-free, you have to look at these blogs.

What Are Vegan Blogs?

Let's start with the basics. Vegan blogging is the practice of writing about veganism. At its core, vegan blogging is a hobby many enjoy and uses to raise awareness about veganism. A word about terminology. Some assume that vegan bloggers, or vegans generally, are restrictive and don’t eat anything else. Some don’t eat meat, and some don’t eat dairy, some don’t eat eggs, some don’t eat honey, and so on. These people have a point: many vegans (and probably most non-vegans) can’t (and don’t) eat some things on this list of foods that most people eat regularly. But this doesn’t make them less vegan.

A vegan blog is simply a blog that has a vegan leaning. Blogs written by and about vegans and other vegetarians are usually vegan-leaning. The readers who flock to these blogs are mainly people who wish to eat a more healthy lifestyle. In addition to the eating part, many of these blogs include veganism as a lifestyle choice. Veganism isn't limited to a strict diet. You're more than welcome if you adopt a plant-based lifestyle and try your best to be an ambassador for the vegan movement. This helps on a more personal level. No one knows what you go through as an individual daily more than you.

Types Of Vegan Blogs

Types Of Vegan Blogs

There are many different types of vegan blogs to follow. The food is often the star of the show on most vegan blogs. You can't pass up a great picture of a plate of tofu or a delicious-looking cookie. There are tons of types of vegan blogs. There's The Omnivore’s Dilemma, with its excellent article,

“Don’t Be Like Primus.” The amount of information on the “Primus” page will make you question how the plant-based diet works and then have you craving plant-based food. There's Foodaholics, with its “Making Vegan My Main Job.” There's even one called “The Vegan Zombie,” which is full of knowledge but can sometimes be quite brutal. The Viral Vegan is called the “Vegan Jon Stewart.”

Another type of blog is The Vegan Mom Who Likes Food. This blog is an example of what vegans truly get out of the “vegan life.” The website provides an example of how life can be when you are vegan, including different meal suggestions, budget-friendly recipes, and nutritional information. Each day has a different theme, so it's like a mini food magazine for vegans.

You may also want to visit the blog Freelee the Banana Girl. Freelee is an extreme example of how food and happiness go together. She was once a morbidly obese woman who began eating a plant-based, raw vegan diet. Since then, she's lost an estimated 125 pounds and improved her health. Freelee is truly the ultimate plant-based blogger. She's drop-dead gorgeous, a whiz at homemade vegan food, and a truly caring individual.

Avant Garde Vegan

Avant-Garde Vegan

Gaz Oakley, known as the Avant-Garde Vegan, is a vegan chef and cookbook author from Cardiff, Wales. He was described in the Daily Telegraph as “a star of the meat-free world”, whose “recipes have gained the respect of herbivores and carnivores alike”. Avant-Garde Vegan has great recipes and interesting perspectives.

I love it when she posts and discusses vegan life in America. I enjoy Avant-Garde Vegan’s fresh and unique takes on veganism. This blog has some great ideas on vegan dining in New York City, and they also have a few vegan recipes on the site as well. Some of my favorite vegan dishes from this blog include their heavenly Vegan Banh Mi Sandwiches and vegan baklava with tahini sauce.

From the small amounts he’d seen on social media, Gaz started feeling guilty every time he was eating meat or dairy, he recalls one day simply having enough & deciding to sit down & watch the Gary Yourofsky speech. Wondering what to eat, Gaz instantly went into his kitchen and started experimenting. Gaz wanting to do his bit of activism, started trying to persuade his friends & colleagues to go vegan.

Over the next 5 years, Gaz went on to launch his brand Avant-Garde Vegan by Gaz Oakley, which grew & grew to amass an ever-growing audience of over 2 million people. He is now a published author of cookbooks Vegan 100, Vegan Christmas & his latest book, Plants Only Kitchen, which was released in 2020. This blog is getting more and more popular as we speak. From My Bowl Vegan Blog

From My Bowl Vegan Blog

From My Bowl is run by a girl fresh out of college, showing that success does not depend on age. From My Bowl promotes simplicity and clean, well-rounded meals. I would also recommend this vegan food blog's super simple dressing and sauce recipes.

“From My Bowl” is a Great Source of Delicious Vegan Recipes. If you’ve switched or thinking of switching to a vegan diet, you’re probably on the lookout for amazing new blogs with plant-based recipes. Caitlin Shoemaker’s From My Bowl is one of those blogs, and she’s sharing some of Instagram’s most delicious vegan recipes.

Shoemaker was raised as a vegetarian and first adopted a fully plant-based diet in 2015. During her time in college, she started preparing her own meals due to limited vegan options at the college cafeteria but struggled with recipes she found online because they were too complicated, required expensive ingredients, and didn’t fit in her everyday diet.

That’s why she decided to start developing her own recipes, and she quickly went on to start her food blog From My Bowl. Her recipes are targeted at young adults, working professionals, and busy parents trying to prepare nutritious and healthy meals on a tight budget.

Her food blog became such a huge success that she ended up publishing a cookbook, Simply Delicious Vegan, which consists of her best plant-based recipes. Shoemaker can teach you how to make everything from breakfasts to desserts, and you can enjoy her recipes even if you aren’t fully committed to a plant-based diet.

Conclusion

Veganism is becoming more and more popular. According to Businessweek, about 1 percent of Americans are vegan. Vegan products are available at the most popular grocery stores and restaurants.
