Amazing Health Benefits Of A Raw Vegan Diet

In my opinion, a raw vegan diet not only has amazing health benefits but is also great for protecting animals, reducing greenhouse gases, and reducing world hunger. This raw vegan diet will improve heart health due to its focus on fruits and vegetables — both of which are consistently linked to lower blood pressures and a reduced risk of heart disease and stroke. This way of eating also includes plenty of nuts, seeds, sprouted whole grains and legumes.

As our understanding of our food and its health, environmental, social, and political implications increase, more of us turn to plant-based lifestyles. Within this realm, however, there are many ways in which we can express a plant-based lifestyle. One of these is a raw vegan dietary approach.

I am on a raw vegan diet myself, and I feel great. I have lots of energy, and I can eat as much fruit and vegetables as I feel like. There are no worries about gaining weight and becoming obese. In this article, I will introduce this amazing diet to you.

These dieters ate about five or six servings of greens per day and drank plenty of water. They also enjoyed lots of fruit and vegetables, including blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapefruit, avocados and bananas.

A raw vegan diet excludes animal products like meat, poultry, fish, seafood,  eggs, dairy and animal by-products, like honey and gelatine. It also excludes all cooked, baked, pickled, and otherwise processed foods.

The raw vegan diet is beneficial for the environment and animals who will stay alive and enjoy a cruelty-free life.

Raw fruit and vegetables, sprouted grains, leafy greens, nuts, and seeds contain many nutrients and are excellent for our health. This is the part of the vegan diet we concentrate on in this article.

Raw Vegan Diet For Weight Loss

A raw vegan diet may improve weight loss and overall health due to its emphasis on eating a wide range of colourful produce, including a good variety of raw fruit and vegetables. This is a form of anti-inflammatory eating, which can help improve a person's overall well-being. In addition to that, you avoid all the saturated fats in animal foods, which helps a great deal in losing weight.

Raw Vegan Diet For Kidney Health

Some researchers believe that eating a raw vegan diet may benefit your kidney health. It's based on the idea that eating raw fruits and vegetables, sprouted whole grains, and protein-rich plant foods are important for supporting the health of the body's kidney system. The benefits of a raw vegan diet are a good way of incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your life.

Citrus Fruit Platter
This is the citrus fruit platter we have sitting on our kitchen counter. There are grapefruit, lemons, limes and oranges. We use citrus fruit several times a day. We both have lemon juice in the morning, a smoothie with blueberries, oranges, bananas and cilantro as breakfast and a spinach soup with limes, celery, cucumber, tomatoes, and spinach in the afternoon.

Raw Vegan Diet For Diabetes

It’s not surprising that a raw vegan diet improves cardiovascular health and diabetes. When you focus on consuming fresh, whole, unprocessed foods, you reduce your heart disease and diabetes risk. A raw vegan diet contains many nutrients and natural sugars, which are excellent for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels.

Researchers, led by Lara Carroll, Ph.D., who published a study on vegan diet and diabetes in the European Journal of Nutrition, found that blood pressure in people with prehypertension decreased by 15 percent over a five-month period. “Studies such as the one we reported on in the journal European Journal of Nutrition demonstrate the relevance of raw vegan diets in a broad population, such as diabetics.

It will also help you lose weight. On a raw vegan diet, you don't eat animal products and fats, which are the main cause of diabetes and obesity.

Raw Vegan Diet For Hearth Health
These are some of the vegetables we had in our fridge when I wrote this blog post. There are mini bell peppers, green asparagus, a white (daikon) radish, broccoli, tomatoes, leek, and green onions. I love raw fruit and vegetables.

Raw Vegan Diet For Heart Health

A raw vegan diet eliminates animal products, including meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy products. Additionally, this type of diet is almost fat-free and contains natural fruit sugar only. By avoiding all the saturated fats we eat on a traditional diet, we lose weight, reduce high blood pressure and cholesterol. This is very important for our heart health. You can expect to lower blood pressure as a result of following a raw vegan diet.

Raw Vegan Diet For Good Gut Health

A raw vegan diet includes raw fruit, vegetables, leafy greens, nuts and seeds only. We avoid all cooked, baked, pickled, or otherwise processed foods. This ensures that all foods in the diet are organic and raw. Because they encourage the consumption of raw foods, they are extremely beneficial for the health of our gut flora, which can lead to a higher degree of overall wellness.

Raw Vegan Diet For Better Bone Health

Consuming a raw vegan diet means that your body can benefit from all the nutrients it needs. The fruit and vegetables on this diet provide your body with a steady supply of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. We are avoiding all animal calcium, which is found in cow dairy. You will increase your calcium levels to help your bones. I know this sounds strange.

Many years ago, I read a Canadian study on animal milk and calcium. Our bodies have to use our own calcium from our bones to dissolve the harsh animal calcium.

The research on a raw vegan diet for bone health is ongoing to determine the health benefits for your bones.

Raw Vegan Diet For Mental Health

Raw Vegan Diet For Mental Health

The raw vegan diet does not include any cooked, baked, pickled, or otherwise processed foods. Food, poultry, fish, seafood and dairy, and all other animal products are excluded. Some studies, including those conducted by Johns Hopkins University, have shown a link between a nutritionally complete vegan diet and better mental health, such as reduced anxiety and depressive symptoms.

A raw vegan diet may also help some people deal with anxiety and stress because it allows for plenty of time for daily exercise and other activities that might help those dealing with mood problems.

How To Eat A Raw Vegan Diet

There are a few basic rules to follow when eating raw vegan:

  • Eat all fruit and vegetables, preferably organic, raw.
  • Eat plenty of leafy greens and sprouted legumes.
  • Eat a few raw nuts and seeds once in a while.
  • Avoid all animal products – cooked or raw
  • Avoid all cooked, baked or processed goods, and
  • Most important of all: Enjoy your journey into the delicious raw food.

Raw Vegan Diet To Avoid Processed Food

A raw vegan diet can also keep you away from the temptation of processed and junk food and avoid the impact it may have on your body. Fried foods, red meat, cold cuts and fatty foods are things that anyone should avoid. When you are on a raw vegan diet, you won't even buy these unhealthy foods. Eating raw fruit and vegetables can be a great choice to stay healthy.

Advantages Of Eating A Raw Vegan Diet

In recent times studies that were released say that a raw vegan diet can make a huge positive difference in a person’s life. I can vouch for that.

The diet can help to improve your overall health and well-being because you are consuming a wide variety of healthy foods. A raw vegan diet does not contain preservatives, cooked or processed foods, or any additives. In addition to the diet being healthy, it is also effortless to follow.

Raw Vegan Diet For Beneficial Enzymes

Adequate amounts of anti-inflammatory vitamin E, zinc, calcium and selenium are vital for good heart health and adequate quantities of magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus for optimal bone, muscle, and nerve function. These minerals support normal heart and heart-related functions, make you feel more energetic, and positively affect your body's immune system.

A diet that restricts these nutrients may lead to fatigue and a decrease in energy. Instead, an anti-inflammatory diet, with plenty of fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, sprouted whole grains and legumes will be more sustaining and keep you feeling energized.

Raw Vegan Diet For Life Energy

Raw Vegan Diet For Life Energy

A study published in the Journal of Nutrition said that people who adhered to a raw vegan diet for 30 days reported more energy and vitality and less fatigue than a control group. The researchers compared the raw food diet to a conventional diet low in meat and dairy products.

The results showed that the raw food diet “was associated with a more favourable body mass index, body fat percentage, and waist circumference”

Reduce Your Risk Of Diabetes

The study mentioned above showed that those with a raw vegan diet have the lowest risk of diabetes. This means that if you are trying to protect your body against a disease that many people are diagnosed with during adulthood, you should eat a rich diet in plant-based raw fruit and vegetables.

Going raw will help you eat healthily. As previously stated, a raw vegan diet is delicious. You can eat lots of colourful fruit and crispy vegetables. You are eating most raw vegetables and fruits in your diet. You will also eat a few raw nuts and seeds. While going on a raw vegan diet will make you eat healthily, there are no miracle foods to help you with your weight loss and overall well-being.

Improve Digestion
This fruit bowl is our typical breakfast or lunch. These are a mix of apples, kiwi, peaches, persimmons, and bananas. Usually, we also add all kinds of berries, like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries.

Improve Digestion

Digestive issues are an inevitable side-effect of eating foods that have been processed, altered in composition, or had unnatural nutrients added to them. “It’s much easier to digest fresh, unprocessed foods,” says Brooke Alpert, a New York City-based registered dietitian nutritionist and author of the book What’s Eaten, What’s Missing.

This is especially true of vegan diets, which tend to be very raw and pure. With plenty of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and fibre in their diets, raw vegan diets can help improve digestive health. You will also enjoy improved wellness by eating a well-balanced diet. This will have a positive effect on your overall health and wellbeing.

Increases Consumption Of The Optimal Form Of Foods

By cutting out all animal foods, like meat, poultry, fish, seafood, dairy, eggs and honey, you are basically removing animal fats, milk, eggs, cheese, and butter from your diet, along with meat, fish, and other animal-derived foods. It means you will only eat of lots of raw fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and other whole foods that you can eat raw and are rich in vitamins, minerals, fibre, and plant compounds.

Also, it means that you will be eating the maximum amount of these foods possible, thus increasing the consumption of the best and most effective forms of plant-based foods. This increases cardiovascular health, and you will be able to eat a raw diet, which is rich in nutrients and detoxifying enzymes.

Foods To Eat

Foods To Eat

Raw vegan meals typically consist of unprocessed plant foods and uncooked fruits, vegetables and leafy greens such as spinach, kale and chard.

This is a straightforward rule: “You can eat all fruit and vegetables which taste good raw.” I personally eat lots of fruit, like apples, grapefruit, pomegranate, pineapple, melons, bananas, persimmons, and berries. I choose organic fruit and vegetables whenever possible because they are not sprayed with fungicides and pesticides.

I also love vegetables like tomatoes, peppers (I prefer the yellow or orange ones), cucumbers, spinach, kale, all types of lettuce, etc.

I am growing many different fresh herbs in my garden, like basil, cilantro, dill, mint, oregano, parsley, and rosemary which I add to salads and vegetable smoothies and soups.

We drink lemon or lime water, orange juice, celery juice, and other vegetable juices on a daily basis.

One other important item is pure water. It is important to drink lots of water, especially if you want to lose weight.

Once in a while, I have an avocado or some raw nuts and seeds. You might want to hold off with them until you reach your ideal weight.

Foods To Avoid

On a raw vegan diet you want to avoid traditional foods that commonly form part of a western diet, such as:

  • All animal-derived products like meat, poultry, fish, seafood, dairy, eggs, honey, and gelatine.
  • All pickled foods: Sourkraut, cornichons, onions, artichoke hearts, olives, and sun dried tomatoes.
  • Sugar, salt, processed spices and herbs.
  • Vegetables that need to be cooked: Potatoes, green beans, squash, and pumpkins.
  • Baked goods: Buns, bread, crackers, cookies, cakes and pies.
  • Legumes and soy products.
  • Pasta, rice, potato, and cereals.
  • All other processed or pre-cooked foods you can buy in the grocery store.

In short, foods to avoid are all cooked, baked, processed, pickled, or any other types of altered products.
